Clinical Pearls Didactic Title: School Refusal: Information for Primary Care

Presenter: Dr. Michael Cheng, M.D., FRCP (C)

Guest Hub Specialist: Matthew Manion, M.S.W, RSW

Matthew has been working with children and youth for over ten years in the Ottawa area. He has a passion for working in the mental health sector and with families trying to navigate the mental health system. He is currently a School Social Worker with the Ottawa Carleton District School Board (OCDSB), with specific experience working with at-risk students in Alternate Site Programs, Vocational High School Sites, and an Urban Priority High School. Matthew believes that feeling comfortable and supported is the most important factor in any therapeutic or non-therapeutic relationship, and strives to help families make those connections.
